Have you ever wondered what the NSA is? It stands for Nursing Student Association, and it is a group of nursing students who meet on a regular basis to get to know each other better through social events, involve themselves in their community through service events, and develop their professional selves. Being a part of this organization is a great way to get involved in the nursing community here at Binghamton and connect with your graduating class. So you might be wondering: how does one join the NSA? If you are a nursing student reading this, then you're in luck! All undergraduate nursing students at Binghamton are automatically part of this organization. Even if you are a prospective nursing student interested in transferring into Decker via Intra-University Transfer, you are welcome to attend any of our events. All you have to do is get involved! You can find our events on B-Engaged, and we also post regular updates on our instagram @nsabinghamton.
Some examples of past events include:
Social: S'mores night, speed friending, apple picking
Community: Blood drives, food drives, card making for local nursing homes
Professional Development: Resume building, LinkedIn workshop, upstate/downstate externship panel
My name is Greta, and I am one of the community chairs on the NSA E-Board. I have had a great time at all the NSA events I have attended so far and joining E-Board was a great way for me to get involved and give back to my community. We are always looking to meet more students, and I hope to see you at our next event!
