Self-Isolation Netflix Binge List

Gerard

Changes brought on by COVID-19 has uprooted our daily lives and left us all in an area that we have never experienced before. Our normal daily life, such as going to school, shopping and being with our friends, has been altered during these troubling times. While it may seem easy to forget about ourselves due to all of these new stressors, it is important to relax and assess our own health. Self-care is just as important as looking out for our friends and family in these times. Nobody expected this Spring to turn out like it did. We must do everything we can to respect the social distancing guidelines and protect those who cannot protect themselves!

One of my favorite things to do is watch Netflix. During High school I would come home from school or sports and watch an episode of whatever TV show I was currently binging before I did my homework. This was a great way for me to de-stress from my busy day, which I feel is extremely important for all of us to be doing during these rough times. Once I started college, I have not been able to watch Netflix as much as I used too. Since coming home, I have had a ton of free time which has led me back to watching countless TV episodes as well as movies. This keeps my mind from stressing about the outside world, but more importantly helps me follow #stayathome motto.

Without further ado here is my College Self-Isolation Binge/Movie List:

#1 The Office: (Netflix)

The Office is an American mockumentary sitcom television series that depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

#2 Interstellar: (Amazon Prime) - Movie

In Earth's future, a global crop blight and second Dust Bowl are slowly rendering the planet uninhabitable. Professor Brand (Michael Caine), a brilliant NASA physicist, is working on plans to save mankind by transporting Earth's population to a new home via a wormhole. But first, Brand must send former NASA pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and a team of researchers through the wormhole and across the galaxy to find out which of three planets could be mankind's new home.

#3 Game of Thrones (HBO)

George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It's the depiction of two powerful families -- kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men -- playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, whose shooting locations include Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia and Spain.

#4 The Walking Dead (Netflix)

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. A group of survivors travel in search of safety and security, constantly on the move in search of a secure home. But the pressure each day to stay alive sends many in the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and they soon discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly than the zombies walking among them. At times, the interpersonal conflicts present a greater threat to their continuing survival than the walkers that roam the country.

#5 Grey's Anatomy

A medical based drama centered around Meredith Grey, an aspiring surgeon and daughter of one of the best surgeons, Dr. Ellis Grey. Throughout the series, Meredith goes through professional and personal challenges along with fellow surgeons at Seattle Grace Hospital.

Hope you enjoy! Stay safe!
