Get Yourself Organized!

Emily R.

It's no secret that college students have a lot to juggle: school, work, friends, family, personal... it can easily get overwhelming. Luckily, in the age of technology, there are plenty of electronic resources out there to help you visualize and stay on top of everything. Gone are the days of sticky note to-do's, say hello to all of these new programs that will change your life:

Notion

My personal favorite, Notion is a powerful tool that can be used for... well, anything! I personally use it to manage my to-do's, my goals, my TV watchlist, my school responsibilities, my recipes, and a lot of future planning. It takes just a couple of clicks to create a table, a timeline, a list, anything that can help you better visualize.

Todoist

Todoist is an excellent to-do maker that I love for its integration into Notion and into Google Calendar. You can easily create, categorize, and date tasks you need done, and the ease of integration allows you to get notifications of events, see them on a calendar, or sort your to-do's by category. On Todoist I manage my jobs, my school assignments, my clubs, my social life, my grocery list, and basically anything that I want to get done.

Spark

Spark is an email manager for those of us (like myself) that are not too great with other mail applications. Spark allows you to integrate all of your email addresses into one mailbox, giving you the option to sort by mailbox, email type, flags, etc. Using Spark, I find that I get notified about new emails almost immediately, I can send emails, and I can find emails much easier.

Evernote

Evernote is a note-taking application to help you stay on top of everything you may want to jot down. I use it to keep my class notes organized and easy to find (and because it makes my notes look nice).

With all of these resources (plus many other applications to fit any of your needs), it can be a lot easier than it seems to stay organized! It helps to separate by category (ie by class, by resource type, etc), and going forward, organization is a super important skill that you will use for the rest of your life.
